Press release from the City of Santa Cruz:
SANTA CRUZ, CA — The City of Santa Cruz Trevethan Avenue Storm/Sewer Project is scheduled to impact traffic on Soquel Avenue near the intersection of Trevethan on Monday, April 25, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
During these hours, westbound and eastbound lanes on Soquel Avenue will be redirected to adjacent lanes and reduced to one lane.
Trevethan Avenue will remain closed to through-traffic with a detour in place during weekday construction hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To access Trevethan from Soquel: eastbound traffic should use Marnell Avenue and Melrose Avenue/Parnell Street; westbound traffic should use Park Way and Almena Street. To access Soquel from Trevethan: southbound traffic should use Almena Street and Park Way.
By installing storm drain infrastructure and repaving Trevethan Avenue, the project will reduce flooding, provide more capacity for the sewer system, and improve existing street conditions. Project completion is expected in June.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience this construction work may cause and appreciates the public's cooperation. Any concerns or questions may be addressed to Engineering Technician Cina Seyedkazemi at (831) 420-5177 or [email protected].
