YARDLEY, PA — A Yardley boutique has partnered with a Bucks County organization that assists gardeners to help both shoppers and nature lovers alike. Krysset Gallery + Shop, located at 45 E. Afton Ave., Suite B, described as a "lifestyle store brimming with hand-selected North American artisan-made goods", is hosting a silent auction for their hand-painted window display, "Becoming Blooms". The auction will benefit the Bucks County Seed Share, a Morrisville-based operation that allows local gardeners to share and sell seeds for growing a variety of plants and flowers. Krysset founder and owner Jessica Gebauer spoke about the partnership in a statement. "Krysset and BCSS are a natural pairing. I'm all for activities that get people expressing themselves creatively and through their hands - be it painting, woodworking, or gardening!" Gebauer used her skills from her days as a jewelry designer to hand-craft the flowers on thin muslin fabric; she then stretched the blooms over embroidery hoops. This creates a beautiful flower display, which is being used in the auction. Opening bids are $20 per piece. "Krysset creates seasonal window displays multiple times a year," says Gebauer. "Offering the pieces for auction gives the display a dual purpose, which I love. Its eye-catching beautification meets fundraising! I hope to partner with more community and non-profit organizations in the future that align with Krysset's values." Heather Guidice, a founding partner of BCSS and owner of Kona Compost, decided to work with Gebauer to help local gardeners and those who want to take part in environmentally-friendly practices. "After meeting Heather and hearing her enthusiasm for gardening, I felt like I really understood her and instantly aligned with the Seed Share's mission because her passion reminds me so much of my Creative Partners at Krysset [the artists and makers whose work makes up Krysset's product selection]." The silent auction will run until May 14 and end with a large party that will see a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Krysset at 1 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Bucks County Seed Share, which is in the Morrisville Free Library on 300 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
