TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park police have cleared the scene of an office building Friday after checking for a possible bomb at the business after a person called 9-1-1 and stated there was a man with a gun at 18440 Thompson Court. According to Tinley Park Police Chief Matt Walsh, investigators did not believe the threat had merit but investigated and swept the building out of caution. Will County and Cook County officials confirmed bomb-sniffing dogs were at the scene at around 5 p.m. Tinley Park police told Patch no one inside the building called police and that there were no injuries reported when officers arrived. Bomb sweeping measures were taken out of precaution, Deputy Chief Lawrence Rafferty told Patch. As of 8:15 p.m., the building was deemed all clear. According to Rafferty, police are investigating the call as fake.
