NATICK, MA — One of the region's most exclusive shopping destinations will close up shop in a few months.
The Natick Mall Neiman Marcus location plans to close after the Christmas shopping season, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Dallas-based retailer is in the midst of a bankruptcy reorganization, and is closing six other stores across the U.S.
This is the second blow for the Natick Mall in recent months as Lord & Taylor plans to close up shop as the company also heads through bankruptcy. The mall's other major department store anchors, Nordstrom and Macy's, have not announced any closure plans.
The Natick Neiman Marcus is one of only two in all of New England. The store at Copley Place in Boston will remain open.
The Natick Neiman Marcus location opened in 2007 when the mall underwent a major renovation.
There are plans underway to replace one of the mall's former anchors. The owners of an immersive gaming concept want to open a 43,000 square-foot event space called Level 99 sometime in 2021.
