New Boden Lane Pedestrian Bridge Arrives In Natick

NATICK, MA — The saga of the Boden Lane Bridge may be reaching a (temporary) end. A temporary pedestrian-only bridge has been delivered to the site near the West Natick MBTA stop, and should be available to commuters and others soon. State Rep. David Linsky, D-Natick, said Tuesday that a temporary modular steel bridge was delivered and will be assembled soon. "I reached out to MassDOT this morning and was informed that ACROW bridge (temporary pedestrian bridge) has arrived in Natick and assembly is now underway. They anticipate the bridge will be assembled and installed over the next couple of weeks," Linsky wrote on Facebook. The Boden Lane Bridge was damaged on Halloween by workers clearing brush. The structure was closed that day and replaced by a MWRTA shuttle that ferries commuters around the bridge to the West Natick MBTA station. MassDOT crews got to work demolishing the bridge in late December and finished up work before New Year's Eve. MassDOT had initially said the demolition would take until mid-January. A MassDOT spokesperson told Patch on Dec. 16 that the pedestrian bridge would "be complete and usable by pedestrians by early February, weather permitting."
