NATICK, MA — Natick police have arrested and charged a 17-year-old in the Aug. 18 hit-and-run along Washington Avenue, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Natick Chief James Hicks said Tuesday.
The teen has been charged with leaving the scene of personal injury, leaving the scene of property damage, two counts of operating under the influence of drugs causing serious bodily injury, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and failure to stop. He may have been using marijuana at the time of the collision, police said.
Kimberly Gunner, 51, and Andy Colbert, 39, were walking along a sidewalk when a pickup truck jumped the curb and hit them. Gunner was impaled by a fence, and the driver backed over her before speeding away from the scene.
Police later found the pickup at a home in Holliston. Two other teens were in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The 17-year-old driver is set to be arraigned on Sept. 10.
