EAST ISLIP, NY — Main Street in East Islip is closed on Friday afternoon from Carleton Avenue to William Avenue due to a gas leak, according to Suffolk Police. The gas leak was reported in front of American Legion on 3 Bayview Avenue. Houses and stores evacuated from 1st and 2nd Avenue and from Bayview north of Duval Street. Local police, members of the fire department and Natural Gas are currently at the scene.
