need help with Nissan Versa Transmission

My 2014 Nissan Versa frequently will not shift into high gear When I get to 3000 RPM it will often not shift and will be going only 40 MPH Sometimes when I get to 3000 RPM and slow down and speed up it will shift into high gear There is no check engine light on I have been told that Nissans have transmission problems 130000 miles on the car now I am looking for a temporary solution since I cannot afford to get another transmission at this point.
