Stamford Coronavirus Updates: City Has 3,087 Confirmed Cases

STAMFORD, CT — City officials announced Friday evening there have been 3,087 confirmed cases and 71 probable cases of the coronavirus in Stamford as of June 12, according to state Department of Public Health. While that number is up a little from the 3,084 confirmed cases and 71 probable cases of the virus, also referred to as COVID-19, reported by the state a day prior, city officials also noted the department "has been reviewing its data and removing cases identified as duplicates, which may result in a decrease of overall cases." In the city's daily "COVID-19 situation newsletter," officials also noted the state's interactive dashboard that tracks cases and deaths across the entire state indicates Stamford has had "193 reported deaths attributed to COVID-19 cases" as of June 12. That number has not changed from the previous day. Stamford officials also remind residents Grace Church and Don Tonio will be sponsoring offering free tacos for "healthcare workers, front line workers and the unemployed" Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the 921 East Main Street parking lot. The city will also host a mask distribution event Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cloonan Middle School, located on W North Street.
