Description

EAST ISLIP, NY — An East Islip resident recently put together a special event to allow the community to show their appreciation for frontline and essential workers during the coronavirus crisis. The community of Country Village holds several annual family events during the year at Marilynn Circle, so Eric Maury got the idea to host a special car parade at that location. The event took place on Saturday starting on Mariylnn Street and Manistee Lane Circle. The parade was lead by the East Islip Fire Department with a special guest appearance by the LI Hero Squad. The entertainment was provided by Maury's company, E.Maury Productions. In addition, in order to further thank essential works, Maury is planning a custom "Thank You" display that would be left standing tall for the month of May at Marilynn circle. He is asking the community to sign the display honoring an essential worker with a goal to have the entire display signed by the end of the month. Finally, Maury is planning to put together a photo slideshow of essential workers by having the community submit photos via email of someone they would like to honor in the presentation.
