HHRC hosts Bella, An Immigrant's Tale, about the remarkable life journey of a grandmother from the programs of Russia (present day Ukraine).
We are delighted to welcome actress and playwright Vicki Summers to the Michael Klahr Center. Vicki has written a play, Bella, An Immigrant's Tale, about the remarkable life journey of her beloved grandmother from the pogroms of Russia (present day Ukraine) to Bella's life in America—with its challenges and rewards. Vicki plays all of the characters in this story of courage, loss, humor and love. The play feels more relevant now with the war in Ukraine as we watch history repeating itself.
A short slideshow, conversation with the audience, and a reception will follow the performance. Proceeds go to UNICEF to aid Ukrainian children and families; a donation receipt to UNICEF will be your ticket to enter the performance. Seating is limited to 75, and masks are required. We look forward to seeing you there!
