Description
This post is about New York State employees. State employees employees are supposed to be working remotely a few days a week but instead of working at home, they are out running personal errands, shopping, and some are even traveling (non-work related travel). These employees are basically using their work from home days as "days off" and getting paid for it without doing any work or charging their vacation time. Some employees got in trouble and lost their remote/work from home days but that did not stop them. To get around this, they then said they have disabilities so they can continue working from home instead of coming to the office to work as they're supposed to be doing. They filed for disability accommodations to work from home. The disabilities they say they have which they say require them to work be home are ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficity/Hyperactivity Disorder). Their disability accommodations are granted without question. No one knows if these employees are actually working or whether they're on vacation and not charging their time. The rest of the employees that have been allowed to work from home (without claiming disabilities) are also not really working and not charging their time when they handle their personal business during work hours.
