Description
Come learn about the Ohio Department of Transportation and JobsOhio’s efforts and upcoming initiatives to advance E-Mobility in Ohio. Ohio is leading the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) marketplace by offering a location for top electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL), conventional take-off and landing (CTOL), and short take-off and landing (STOL) companies to come test and fly. Ohio is the only state offering a statewide strategy for AAM flights and a pathway for integration within Ohio’s urban centers and rural communities. Ohio’s AAM market is estimated at $13B in the areas of healthcare, emergency response, cargo delivery and passenger taxi. The Ohio AAM market is projected to create 15,000 jobs by 2045 and establish 81 vertiports (take-off and landing locations) in Ohio. JobsOhio and Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will host several AAM Community Integration Roundtables across the state to hear feedback, understand community issues, and perceived barriers to AAM community integration. The event is meant as a dialogue with urban and rural planners and community leaders to better understand issues surrounding AAM flights in our community. Additionally, JobsOhio and ODOT will discuss near-term business opportunities supporting healthcare, emergency services, and cargo. Area hospitals will lead the discussion in close collaboration with a leading AAM vehicle manufacturer. The event is presented by JobsOhio, OhioSE, and ODOT and will take place on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bryan Place, 49 N. 6th Street, Zanesville from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
