Boston Children's is ranked the number one pediatric hospital in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Conquering CHD Massachusetts At Conquering CHD, they exist to conquer congenital heart disease, the most common birth defect. They engage, listen, learn, and act. They create visibility and empower all impacted by CHD. They accomplish this through awareness, knowledge, community, and research. Through their state chapters they are able to give knowledge, give a voice and give hope, directly meeting the comprehensive, lifelong needs of patients with congenital heart disease and their families through awareness, knowledge, community, and research programming. Founded in 1937, the Community Art Center is a neighborhood institution committed to our mission: to cultivate an engaged community of youth whose powerful artistic voices transform their lives, their neighborhoods, and their worlds. The Art Center has established an excellent track record of providing creative and challenging learning opportunities to youth. We aim to develop the next generation of civically engaged, community-minded leaders, and problem-solvers. Community Art Center achieves our mission through intensive, year-round activities for youth ages 5-19 and through youth-led Community Programming that engages local and national audiences in quality artistic experiences: Youth ages 5-12 participate in the School Age Child Care Program (SACC) and become creative problem solvers through a hands-on arts curriculum. Youth ages 13-19 enter the Teen Media Program and become digital creators and storytellers rather than just consumers. Or Teens can opt to participate in the Teen Public Art Program, where they gain hands-on experience facilitating civic engagement with community members as they conceptualize, design & execute public art projects. Our murals can be seen all over Cambridge!
