Celebrate Provo Rec's 9th birthday with a 5k or push yourself to the limits with a Radical Race challenge! Provo Rec is turning 9 and we're celebrating all week long including a family friendly 5k OR a Radical Race 5k. We've partnered up with Radical Races to offer a fun challenge "Radical Race style" to those ready to bring out their inner beast mode! THE COURSE: The 5k will take place outside our beautiful rec center in a spectator friendly 3 loop 5K course starting in front of the rec center on 500 N to 500 W (past North Park and Pioneer Village) to 800 N to Freedom, then finishing back at 500 N. This is one of the safest 5K routes with no major street crossings and a well marked route along with plenty of volunteers. This is the perfect 5k for a family, an individual or a group of friends to run together or to cheer people on. RADICAL RACE 5K: Our Radical Race challenge will involve carrying a sandbag for one mile, (men 50lbs, women 30lbs, small sandbags for kids/teens available) lunging 50 meters, 50 burpees, and bear crawl finishers. REGISTRATION: Early registration is only $9 per person in honor of Provo Rec's 9th birthday. Early bird pricing goes until May 6th, then price goes up to $20. There will be music, food trucks, plenty of shopping and vendors, games, and fun for everyone! The event goes from 9:00 am till 1:00 pm with a race starting every 30 minutes from 9:00 till noon. Your event wristband will also get you entrance into the rec center for the day. RACE DAY CHECK-IN: Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your race start time to pick up your swag bag. Event check-in will be outside at the entrance of the Rec center near the start of the race. ADDITIONAL INFO: This event is not chip-timed, but will have a timer at the start/finish.
