Boom Days is a grassroots community event celebrating the lifting of the Lake Erie- Niagara River Ice Boom and the arrival of Spring. As Winter's ice shifts and flows down our not so lazy rivers, so do the festivities unfold along our waterfront and throughout the neighborhoods of the Niagara Frontier. We thank Winter and welcome Spring. Boom Days commemorates our bustling waterways of days gone by and glorifies our natural, artistic and cultural wealth. 3pm - Doors open 3:30 - 4:30 - The Brass Machine 4:30 - 5:30 - Parade with The Brass Machine, Launch of the Boom Ball in the Buffalo River 5:30 - 7:00 - Yellow Jack 7:30 - 9:00 - Captain Tom & The Hooligans Dusk - Fireworks to close out the event PARKING is limited at Silo City, please carpool if you can! The festivities take place at the bar Duende, which is at the end of the road next to the red train car caboose. Weather permitting it will be outdoors, fingers crossed! Bring you own lawn chairs if it is outdoors. No pets. Kid friendly. Band Bios: The Brass Machine (formerly the Buffalo Brass Machine) is the one of the premiere touring acts on the live music circuit today, laying down funky New Orleans-style street beats across the United States and Canada. Formed in 2014 at the University at Buffalo, The Brass Machine provides a unique blend of hip hop, funk, and R&B, all in an infectious and energetic package. Led by front man “Kidd” Kyle Yagielski, the group has been named the best FUNK BAND in Western New York three years in a row by JazzBuffalo. Yellow Jack writes and performs original songs based on Western New York and Erie Canal history. They also perform traditional fiddle tunes, folk, hillbilly, and generally weird and forgotten gems of the last 200 years. Hailing from Buffalo NY Captain Tom & The Hooligans ranges from accordions to electric guitars creating a modern rendition of old world tradition! (Drinking and Dance music from Polka, Celtic, and many more genres!)
