Presenter: Allyson Rush
Allyson is a jack of all trades and a master of many. I attended FAMU and graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Human Resources Management. I have never actually worked in HR but my degree has been instrumental in my success in my roles in sales and dealing with people from all walks of life. I have held positions as a loan officer, realtor and Medicare insurance sales manager for one of the largest insurance companies in the country. I retired from the rigors and demands of corporate America in May 2018. I started my own agency and I specialize in Medicare and Life Insurance sales. I have always been forward facing with my clients and I love people!
Well I’ve always had house plants, because I think it beautifies the house- enter COVID-19. My Soror and I, who I sheltered in place with, were talking and I said, 'let’s grow some vegetables.'
So off to gardening I went - I drilled holes in Menards buckets, had planters built and I had an amazing haul! It was so gratifying to eat something I grew and my children helped plant as well! I will admit that everything tastes a bit different, “clean” if you grow it yourself. I am now addicted to gardening and have seeds for this upcoming season already!
I live in Homewood, IL with my two children, a freshman in college and a senior in high school, and our dog Domino. We love to travel and enjoy family time!!
