STAMFORD, CT — A 56-year-old Stamford man was struck by a stray bullet during a shootout Sunday afternoon on West Broad Street, writes the Stamford Advocate.
The victim, an employee of Stamford Hospital, was shot in the hip through his car door as he was driving home from work at about 4:15 p.m., according to police. They added the man is listed in serious condition, but the wound he suffered is not considered to be a threat to his life.
Police said the victim was not the intended target, as the shooting involved three other people, two of whom shot at but missed each other.
Stamford police are interviewing a person of interest in the shooting, but no arrests had been made as of Monday morning, according to the publication.
