This abbreviated course is designed for house of worship protectors who want to go beyond basic CCP training. Course Description This one-day course is designed for church security volunteers looking to improve their basic weapons handling and marksmanship skills. The curriculum will introduce all participants to Col. Jeff Cooper’s Modern Technique of the Pistol (GUNSITE). Course Topics include:  Mindset  Equipment selection  Introduction to handgun ballistics  Use of force guidelines  Safety  Review of marksmanship fundamentals  Handgun manipulation  Qualification course of fire Instructor Michael Mann, CPP®, PSP®, CDEP has gained valuable experience in conducting anti-terrorism and physical protection operations for three decades. Michael conducted anti-terrorism operations in the United States and Central America while serving as a member of the United States Marine Corps Fleet-Antiterrorism Security Team (FAST); he successfully completed assignments in uniformed services, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and criminal intelligence for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD); he served as a Special Response Team (SRT) Area Commander and Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) member for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)/U.S. Department of Energy (U.S. DOE); managed and developed physical protection and security training programs for commercial nuclear fuel fabrication facilities, chemical facilities, data centers, corporate centers, houses of worship, Christian schools, and healthcare manufacturing; and Michael has managed and designed executive protection programs for public figures and their families. Michael has a Master of Science (MS) and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Security Management; a Certificate in Terrorism Studies from the Centre for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence, University of St. Andrews and he studied terrorism at Tel Aviv University, Tel Aviv, Israel. Michael is also a 32- year student, practitioner and teacher of modern pistolcraft and self- defense, an educator, and he serves as an adjunct staff member for a large university assigned to teach courses in criminal justice, homeland security and counterterrorism.
