A proposition to approve a $2.2 million expenditure from the capital reserve fund for a new high school kitchen cooking laboratory also passed by a vote of 882 to 280.
"The purpose of this improvement is to prepare the students for the high culinary demand the area has," the district said, adding that advantages include no traveling time for students and no BOCES tuition cost.
In the race for Board of Education seats, incumbents Jackie Lowey and John J. Ryan, Sr. won with 874 and 856 votes, respectively. Challenger George Aman received 426 votes.
According to the district, the $71,979,573 budget reflects a budget-to-budget increase of 1.46 percent and a tax levy increase of 2.67 percent, under the New York State tax levy cap.
