East Hampton Election 2019 Results: Supe Van Scoyoc Re-Elected

EAST HAMPTON, NY — The voters have spoken and Peter Van Scoyoc was re-elected to serve another term as East Hampton Town Supervisor by a wide margin. Van Scoyoc (D) was challenged by David Gruber, who ran on the Independence and Libertarian lines. Van Scoyoc handily took the lead with 3832 votes to Gruber's 1561, according to the unofficial tally. Incumbent Superintendent of Highways Stephen Lynch (D) ran unopposed and received 5183 votes. Republican Town Justice Lisa Rana faced off against Democrat Andrew Strong; Rana narrowly kept her lead with 3012 votes to Strong's 2896. In the town council race, Democrats Sylvia Overby and David Lys ran against Bonnie Brady and Betsy Bambrick (Conservative, Libertarian, Independence) for two open seats. The winners were Lys with 3819 votes and Overby with 3367; Brady received 2048 votes and Bambrick, 1701. For town assessor, Dems Jeanne Nielsen and Jill Massa both ran for two open seats. Massa received 5238 votes and Nielsen, 5045. Voters chose 9 trustee candidates from the following: Francis Bock, Bill Taylor, Susan McGraw-Keber, Richard Drew, Benjamin Dollinger, Tim Garneau, John Aldred, Mike Martinsen, James Grimes, Susan Vorpahl, David Talmage, Michael Havens, Fallon Nigro, Dell Cullum, Stephen Lester, and Rona Klopman— and the Democrats swept the results, winning all nine seats. Winners included Martinsen, Taylor, Dollinger, Bock, Garneau, Grimes, Drew, Aldred, and McGraw-Keber — new to the board are Martinsen, Garneau, and Dollinger.
