Join us for our Annual Membership Meeting! Prohibition, the period when a constitutional amendment banned the production, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages in America, is sometimes seen as a colorful time of flappers and bootleggers. But the dark side of this period, 1920-1933, was very dark indeed. Using her book Baptists and Bootleggers: A Prohibition Expedition Through the South…with Cocktail Recipes, Kathryn Smith will guide us through the events leading to Prohibition, the Prohibition period itself, and the aftermath.This event will be held at Kite Hill Brewing Company and drinks will be available for purchase at 3:00 and the kitchen will open at 4:00.
