Anyone interested in getting together to play/record some Jefferson Airplane songs? I'm thinking more like After Bathing at Baxters, Crown of Creation (as opposed to like White Rabbit, Somebody to Love, but not necessarily to their exclusion). I mostly play bass and sing (baritone), but I can also play drums if someone else wants bass. I have a place to play/record with drums, amps, and good vocal monitors so it's low friction to come in, settle in and just play.
I expect the result to be high quality multi-track recordings, so we have something to show for ourselves; if it turned into a gigging situation that would be fine by me, but isn't an important goal for me personally.
FWIW I haven't already worked out all of this material, so I wouldn't expect you to already have played/sung these tunes, unless you happen to have already, which would be awesome. I personally just love these songs, and I think it would be fun if it just so happened that I could connect with others who do also, and would be enthusiastic about playing them. So the learning would be part of the process, selecting which tunes to start with, preparing, then coming in to record together.
At this point any instruments/singers are invited - it doesn't have to be a "role for role cover band". I mean, the Airplane wasn't known for having a singing bass player anyway. If you have any interest, please reply.
