After Multiple Westford Brush Fires, Authorities Seek Public's Help

WESTFORD, MA —Authorities are asking for the public's help following several recent brush fires that burned through 21 acres of Westford conservation land. Officials with the Westford Fire and Police departments said they responded to a brush fire on March 31 in the woods between the American Legion Baseball Fields on River Street, Farmer Way and East Boston Camps on Depot Street. According to fire officials, they were called back to the same area Wednesday to extinguish two more fires. Firefighters were called to the area a third time on Thursday to put out a fourth fire. Investigators are asking anyone who lives near the area or was visiting the evening of March 30, the morning of March 31, Wednesday between 3-5 p.m. or Thursday between 8-10:30 a.m. to contact the Westford Fire Department. Officials are also asking homeowners in the area of River Street, North Street, Groton Road, Beacon Street, Maple Street, Coakley Circle and Farmer Way to review home security cameras for anything that seems out of the ordinary.
