MILTON, MA — The Milton Select Board has established an "Equity and Justice for All" advisory committee design to consult the town on ways it can focus on "eradicating from the Town of Milton oppression, racism, injustice and violence against people of color."
The committee is expected to report back to the Select Board at least once per quarter and provide recommendations for consideration within 18 months.
The committee is planned to be made up of up to 11 members, including at least one member from Courageous Conversations Towards Racial Justice, one member of the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association and one member of Citizens for Diverse Milton.
The Select Board unanimously adopted the proposal, which is similar to an inclusion task force recently established in Sharon.
