YONKERS, NY — Two Bronx men were convicted by a jury trial and sentenced to state prison on charges stemming from a violent 2020 home invasion in Yonkers, Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced Wednesday. Trejuan Deas was sentenced as a second violent felony offender to 16 years in prison, with five years of post-release supervision. The 26-year-old was convicted on felony counts of burglary, assault and robbery. Co-defendant Joshua Emanuel, 21, was sentenced to 11 years in prison, with five years of post-release supervision. The 21-year-old was convicted of felony counts of burglary, robbery and tampering with physical evidence. On Dec. 18, 2020, just after 11 p.m., Emanuel and Deas forced their way into a Yonkers home and committed "multiple crimes" against two separate victims inside the house. The female victim was able to covertly call 911, but before police arrived, Deas threw the 80-year-old male victim down a flight of stairs, seriously injuring him. During the course of the burglary, Emanuel and Deas stole a cell phone from the female victim. Emanuel dismantled and hid the gun he used during the robbery as police arrived, leading to the tampering conviction. Yonkers police arrested Deas after he jumped out of a first-floor window and Emanuel as he exited the home.
