Description
GREENFIELD, WI — The Greenfield Police Department has planned a drug take-back event for April 30 for people to dispose of unwanted or expired medications.
The federally organized event will take place at the Greenfield Police Department, 5300 West Layton Avenue, from 10-2 p.m., the department said in a Facebook post Wednesday.
An officer will be in the lobby during that time frame to accept medications. The department is asking for people to leave liquids in their original containers but to remove pills from their containers and to bring those in a bag.
Across the country, the last DEA prescription drug take-back day brought in 745,000 pounds of medications, according to a news release from November 2021.
The take-back days routinely collect unwanted and expired medications across the country and in local municipalities.
