Description

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Police Department is asking for help to identify a man they say was involved in recent groping incidents in Stamford. Lt. Thomas Scanlon of the SPD said the department received two separate calls for service regarding groping complaints on Stamford's East Side on April 10. "Based on the description of the suspect that was provided by each victim, it is believed that the same suspect was involved in each incident," Scanlon said in a news release Wednesday. Scanlon said the suspect is described as a 20 to 30-year-old Hispanic male with medium skin tone, who is approximately 5-feet-7, with medium build and short hair. According to surveillance footage of the suspect at the time of the groping incidents, Scanlon said the man was seen wearing a red, white and blue hooded Ralph Lauren Polo jacket, and was riding a smaller purple/white bicycle. Anyone with information regarding the identity of suspect is asked to call the SPD Major Crimes Unit at 203-977-4417. Additionally, anyone with a cell phone can send an anonymous tip to the SPD by texting the word StamfordPD and the tip information to 847411.
