Description

If you enjoy the arts and humanities, and you would like to support initiatives in the town of Milton, then join us! The Milton Cultural Council is a local grant program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council. We oversee the distribution of a state allocation of funds earmarked to support community cultural activities. Milton's allocation varies from year to year, but usually is around $7,000. The Cultural Council typically meets six Wednesday evenings per year. During the autumn granting season, the Council meets approximately once per month. During these meetings we review applications and allocate funding to concerts, festivals, school programs, lectures, and other cultural activities impacting the town of Milton. During January, March, and June, we meet to discuss Council priorities and take action on Council-sponsored programs. All new Milton Cultural Council members will be appointed by the Select Board for three-year terms commencing in May 2020. Interested? Read about the Milton Cultural Council's priorities at http://www.mass-culture.org/milton. Then contact the Council Chair, Alison Moll, at (267) 222-0507 for more information.
