Description

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Part of West Hanover Avenue is closed because of downed wires, Morris Township police announced at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Officials closed the street between Chris Christie Way and Ketch Road. About 700 customers — 7.6 percent of Morris Township — had no power as of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Jersey Central Power & Light. While it wasn't immediately clear whether the outages were related, JCP&L crews will fix the downed wires. JCP&L estimates power restoration by 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Officials will place detours at West Hanover Avenue. Avoid the area, police said. This is a developing story. Patch will update when more information becomes available. Thanks for reading.
