MILFORD, MA — New data from the U.S. Small Business Administration shows which local companies participated in the Paycheck Protection Program, or PPP, to continue paying workers through the coronavirus pandemic. Some 18,000 companies across Massachusetts got loans over $150,000, including close to 100 in Milford. A majority of the local companies took out small loans below $350,000, and the loans helped keep just over 4,000 people employed through the height of the first wave of coronavirus. Across the U.S., about 5 million businesses have received PPP loans totaling over $521 billion. The U.S. Treasury says that money has supported 51.1 million jobs, as much as 84 percent of America's small business employees. Businesses can have the loans forgiven if they use the money for payroll, rent, and other business costs. Here's a breakdown of which Milford companies received PPP loans.
