Description

Press release from the City of Iowa City: April 19, 2022 In accordance with Monday's federal court ruling striking down the federal mask mandate pertaining to public transportation, and subsequent guidance from the Transportation Security Administration, Iowa City Transit users will no longer be required to wear a mask on public transit vehicles or at transit stops. Masks are still an effective means to prevent the spread of COVID-19. While not required, the City of Iowa City and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend the use of masks while using indoor public transportation, particularly if you feel ill or believe you could be infected with COVID-19. The City wants to thank Iowa City Transit passengers for their compliance with the mask mandate throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This press release was produced by the City of Iowa City.
