Here are the top five stories in Sacramento today: Starting in May Midtown Parks is excited to announce a new season of fun and open-air "Fresh Air: Fremont Park" health and wellness classes plus an exciting series of new and returning summer activations at "Wednesdays at Winn." Midtown Parks is non-profit 501(c)(3) arm of the Midtown Association that aligns with the mission of the organization to create a center for culture, creativity, and vibrancy in Sacramento's urban core. You'll find Pilates and yoga at Fremont Park, along with a boot camp for the more adventurous. And Midtown favorite Wednesdays at Winn returns with Sippin' at Winn Wine Garden and an inflatable soccer field the last Wednesday of the month. (The Sacramento Press) Three Manteca women were arrested and charged under suspicion of organizing retail thefts in Elk Grove, Lodi and Manteca. Manteca Target loss prevention staff saw the three women enter the store and realized the trio matched descriptions of three women who allegedly stole $2,500 worth of baby formula three days prior. Store employees called police and alerted them of the suspected thieves, who were allegedly concealing stolen items in a large tote. The trio is also being charged by police with stealing $600 worth of items from the Elk Grove Walmart. (ABC10) More than 200 high school students around the Sacramento area on Wednesday raced using cars powered solely on solar energy. This happened at the 15th annual Solar Car Race hosted by the Sacramento Municipal Utility District at Cosumnes River College. The utility company is using it as incentive to encourage youth down the path toward a science, technology, engineering and math career. (KCRA3) A Sacramento woman has been arrested after an incident onboard a plane at Buffalo Niagara International Airport that ended with her allegedly deploying the emergency exit slide. Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority officials have identified the passenger as 24-year-old Sacramento resident Cynthia McKnight. Exactly what set McKnight off is unclear, but officials say she managed to open the main boarding door – which prompted the emergency slide to deploy. She then slid down but was quickly taken into custody. (CBS Sacramento)Smiley Martin was in the hospital after sustaining serious injuries from the April 3 shooting that killed six people and injured a dozen others. He was released on Wednesday and booked into the Sacramento County Main jail. Smiley now faces charges related to being a felon while in possession of a handgun and carrying a machine gun that night.
