Description
Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center held a flag raising ceremony, raising the N.J. Sharing Network flag, in April to support National Donate Life Month. From left, is the medical center’s N.J. Sharing Network Representative Anne Ambrosio; Gladys Burak, MSN, R.N.-BC, director, Trauma Services; Chief Medical Officer Kim Carpenter, M.D., FAAFP, CTHQS; Ann Marie Conte, R.N., director of patient care, NICU, and President and Chief Hospital Executive Vito Buccellato, MPA, LNHA.
The flag is regularly raised when a patient passes who is an organ or tissue donor. More than 100,000 people in the U.S. and 4,000 in New Jersey are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. One organ and tissue donor can save up to eight lives and restore health to over 75 others.
People can register as an organ and tissue donor today at www.njsharingnetwork.org. For more information about Jersey Shore University Medical Center, visit https://www.hackensackmeridianhealth.org/en/Locations/jersey-shore-university-medical-center
