Motivated Excavation Laborer

Description

Excavation Laborer Mahan Excavating, LLC is looking for someone who is willing to assist excavation crews with clearing new building lots, laying pipe, upkeep on the job sites and other job assignments as directed by crew leader. This is a physically demanding job that is performed in all types of weather. Prior excavation labor experience preferred but not required; just your willingness to learn and appreciation for hard work. We are willing to train those motivated individuals to operate heavy equipment if interested. Essential Functions: -Support the work of other skilled craftspeople - equipment operators, pipe-layers, etc., by moving materials, assisting with installation, preparing, cleaning the job site -Work with his/her hands and with power tools run by gasoline, electricity, and compressed air -Be knowledgeable of hazards and safety requirements of the job and use of personal protective equipment -Work with pumps, compressors, and lasers -Fine tune trenches by hand and assist with installing pipe -Will support the ground work of the pipe and clearing crews -Any other duties as assigned Qualifications: -Valid drivers license -CDL license considered a HUGE plus $$ -Reliable transportation and dedicated to dependability -Willing and able to work hard -Strong sense of urgency -Appreciates the importance of safety on the job and over the road -Ability to follow instructions, both verbal and written, but also able to work productively independently -Ability to communicate and work with all levels of employees in a professional, respectful manner -Must work in all weather conditions; heat, cold, rain, etc. -Able to meet the physical demands of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing/walking for long periods of time
