Ukraine To Gain From Pittsburgh Immersive Art Display Benefit

PITTSBURGH, PA — An immersive art experience being held here next week will benefit the people of war-ravaged Ukraine. The "Immersive Shevchenko: Soul of Ukraine" exhibition is coming to Pittsburgh on April 30 and admission proceeds will benefit the National Bank of Ukraine Fund and First Theatrical Charitable Foundation. "The money will go to meet the humanitarian needs of the people of Ukraine," Valeriy Kostyuk, the exhibition's associate producer and a native of Ukraine, said in an interview with Patch. Taras Shevchenko was a poet, writer, public and political figure and artist who is revered in Ukraine. Much of his artwork focused on Ukrainian oppression by the Russian government. The charity event will occur April 30 in a converted warehouse at 720 Lacock Street on the North Side. Tickets are now on sale and range in price from $30 to $90.
