Press release from Northbrook School District 28: April 22, 2022 Join in a fun family event by registering for the HOH5K Scholarship Run/Walk on May 7 at Northbrook Junior High and help raise money for college scholarships. The 5K kicks off at 8 a.m. May 7 at Northbrook Junior High, 1475 Maple Ave. For running enthusiasts, official timing will be offered with microchip technology. Awards will be given for overall male and female 5K winners, as well as the top male and female finishers in multiple age categories. The HOH5K Run/Walk is for both Adult (15 and over) and Youth (14 and under). There will be a Fun Run for children (6 and under). Visit www.HOH5k.org for more information and to register. Same day registration opens at 7 a.m. The event is the main fund-raiser for the Homer O. Harvey College Scholarships that are awarded annually to NBJH alumni since 1989. Named after longtime District 28 superintendent Homer O. Harvey, more than $342,000 has been awarded to 378 graduates. The PTO Council needs community support so that they can continue to fund scholarships to NBJH alumni in the future. This event is open to the whole community for people of all ages.
