MAPLE GROVE, MN — A group of residents is set to host an event Saturday at Maple Grove Library to honor Earth Day. Maple Grove Citizens for Sustainability's inaugural Earth Day event — titled "How is our city GROWing?" — is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the library. The event will feature a plant swap, gift basket raffle and opportunities to talk to other residents about Maple Grove's natural resources and environmental efforts. 2nd Hy-Vee Grocery Store Not Coming To Maple Grove: Reports Maple Grove Citizens for Sustainability is sponsoring the event with Kristy Janigo, who is seeking a seat on the Maple Grove City Council during the 2022 election. The terms of two council members — Phil Leith and Karen Jaeger — are set to end Dec. 31. The group says its mission is to "collaborate with and encourage local residents, businesses, organizations and governments to work together to help build a more sustainable Maple Grove."
