BERKELEY, CA — Authorities are asking for the public's help locating a robbery suspect accused of firing a gun at his victim's car early Friday morning, police said. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as a 20-to 25-year-old man with long dirty blond hair and facial acne, UC Berkeley campus police said. He was last seen wearing black pants, a white T-shirt, white tennis shoes, and was in possession of a black handgun. The victim was in his car at around 2 a.m. in front of 2439 Durant Ave. when the suspect approached him demanding he turn over his necklace, police said. When the victim declined, the suspect took the victim's necklace from him and ran away northbound on Telegraph Avenue, police said. The victim drove toward the suspect and caught up with him in front of 2347 Telegraph Ave., when the suspect fired at least two rounds, striking the victim's vehicle once, police said. The suspect continued running northbound on Telegraph Avenue and then through the UC Berkeley campus, police said.
