Description

Press release from the City of Norcross: April 20, 2022 The City of Norcross is proud to announce the recipients of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Nonprofit Grant Program. The purpose of the grant program is to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the Norcross community and address public health and economic challenges caused by the pandemic. The global COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted many areas of the Norcross community, and the ARPA Nonprofit Grant Program provides qualified nonprofits with funding to assist residents with their recovery. The grant recipients were required to meet certain criteria, including, but not limited, to providing services to the residents of Norcross, holding a 501(c)3 designation and having good standing as a nonprofit with the State of Georgia. Funds from the grant originate from the American Rescue Plan Act and must be used in accordance with the act's regulations. The funds may be used for food programs, utility aid, job training assistance, childcare assistance, eviction protection and more. "We are so happy to be able to distribute these funds and directly help the residents of our community," said City of Norcross Mayor Craig Newton. "These organizations are doing amazing work in Norcross, and we are grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in their life-changing work." With the success of the ARPA nonprofit grant, the City of Norcross, in partnership with Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE), has decided to extend the opportunity to the small businesses of the community as well. Applications for the ARPA Small Business Grant Program will open on May 2, 2022.
