OAKLAND, CA — Sgt. Blanco has reported for duty and he refuses to go home. Blanco is a rooster who showed up at the Alameda County Sheriff's Office substation at Oakland International Airport several months ago and now "refuses to leave" according to a social media post. "He likes to hang around the patrol cars and listen to the police radio." The sheriff's office reports that Blanco is treated as a member of the team and is treated well. "We are not sure how he was promoted to sergeant so quickly but we hear he's an early riser." Plus, we hear he works for chicken feed.
