Have you ever read a novel in verse?
They are narrative poems the length of a novel that tell a story.
April is National Poetry Month and we've put out a variety of poetry books on display in the Children's Room. We've also created this booklist that features novels in verse for middle grade readers. This type of novel is personally one of my favorites to read because the vivid language helps me create pictures in my head, and it's easy to understand the character's emotions (and they are usually quick reads!). Try one of these and let us know what you think!
