MELROSE, MA — Crews are working Wednesday morning to fix a water main break on West Wyoming Ave. The break is on the eastbound side of the road across from Bob's Market. Traffic is being detoured in both directions at Cleveland and Adams streets. Workers were able to limit the break's impact on water pressure to about a block of, Department of Public Works Director Elena Proakis Ellis told Patch. Proakis Ellis said it's too early to know what the cause or extent of the break is. Until those are known, it's difficult to say when the break would be fixed — but they normally take less than six hours. When water pressure is restored, some residents may experience rust-colored water. Proakis Ellis said the water is safe, but people should run their cold taps until it clears before using it.
