A Nightmare On 80s Street is San Diego's premier horror themed 80s band and possibly the only band in the world that does what we do. Kicking up new wave, dance, rock, and pop hits with a dramatic and dark twist, we employ use of imagery, video, smoke and mirrors, blood and schtick to support our gimmick and put on quite an entertaining and frenetic show. Gimmick aside, we have substance and are quality musicians that take pride in our craft and like to put on an entertaining and pro level show. We are looking for the following support/substitute members to be in the wings for quality and paid gigs. We are seeing travel offers, have great paydays, and turnouts and are growing rapidly playing venues like The Whisky-a-gogo, Music Box, Bellyup, The Holding Company, Stone Brewing, to name a few. VOCALS: Energetic frontman with good range, stage presence, and rock appeal. We don't need american idol but bad karaoke isn't the idea either - someone who can entertain a crowd, own the material in a convincing way, and offer some rock and nuance with a polished appeal / in key delivery. KEYS: Someone who knows their way around crafting sounds; in particular 80s synth and piano chops. Backup vocals while playing is a huge plus as is reading music and the ability to learn our version of tunes. We do have tutorials and links on how to play our songs with live performances. * There is a requirement for makeup/costume/and / or mask to play a show with the band. We can help on this end. What we would like from you: -Age/location/background and experience, availability, and anything we need to know sofar as your involvement -A little bit about your expectations and what interests you in this project -Most important: Audio/Video samples of some of the songs below Without some kind of sample, there won't be much to talk about as we are serious professional musicians and any musician worth their salt, we feel, will understand and let their musical resume (audio/video) do most of the talking. Not to be mean but we don't care that you almost made it, opened for jimmy eat world in the early 2000's, or have 50 million subs on youtube or know the guy behind the guy at House of blues. We are interested in quality musicians that will show up, do what they say the can and will do, play ball and do the job. And also, be chill and have fun. The usual: no rockstars, talkstars, flakes, druggies, abusive folks, or other time wasters need spend any calories contacting us - it will be in vain.
