The City of Mercer Island is hiring for a full-time, Stormwater Quality Technician.
This position performs a range of tasks related to the development and implementation of the City’s Stormwater Management Program (SWMP). This position is primarily focused on implementing, tracking, and reporting compliance activities per the City’s Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit. Within the organization, this involves conducting field infrastructure and water quality inspections, providing training and technical support for Public Works, Engineering and Planning Staff, and collecting detailed stormwater infrastructure data utilizing the Cityworks asset management system and Geographic Information System (GIS). Within the community, this includes education and outreach activities, as well as volunteer and advisory board engagement. The Stormwater Quality Technician reports directly to the Right-of-Way (ROW) & Stormwater Manager within the Public Works Department.
