Pasadena Playhouse is one of the top regional theaters in the country and the State Theater of California. About the Position: Pasadena Playhouse is seeking a highly motivated and driven Custodian to join the Facilities Crew. This team is in place to keep our building functionally and aesthetically intact. The Custodian position will ensure that all spaces are tidy, clean, well-maintained and pristine for performances and events as well as general, daily upkeep as assigned by the Operations Manager. Strong candidates will bring a full range of general custodial skills. This position may also be asked to help with event set-up and strike as well as basic furniture movement when needed. Candidates should be physically fit enough to be comfortable with stairs and heavy lifting. The Playhouse is almost 100 years old, so experience with historic and/or outdated buildings is a plus. The Custodian will be responsible for the timely and professional completion of tasks to the standards of the Operations Manager and the senior staff of the Playhouse. The ideal candidate must have strong initiative, great problem-solving capability, excellent communication skills, and a can-do attitude. Responsibilities: Perform Daily cleaning duties of all spaces Clean up after patrons during show times Assist the Operations Manager with additional tasks Help with event set-up and strike Interact with staff and patrons in a professional and courteous manner Report any maintenance issues to the Operations Manager Perform work in a timely manner Qualifications/Experience 1-2 years experience Ability to communicate effectively Basic maintenance knowledge Physically fit and able to lift up to 100 lbs. Passion for the arts and/or theater Willingness to work with an on-call or revolving schedule when required Compensation is $18.00 per hour. Start date is immediate.
