Hello! We have a 6 yr old Papillon that needs a new home. He’s a great dog with a loving personality. He loves to play with toys, loves snuggling on your lap or bed, and he’s easy to take anywhere since he’s so small and light. The reason for his re-home are a few things: - He struggles not being defensive around small children. This is most likely due to his size and small children are unpredictable. He growls and bites because of this fear. We do have small children and we don’t want an accident to happen when they try to pet him. - He has always struggled with housebreaking. We have had to confine him to a certain area of the home to prevent him from staining our carpet on a regular basis. Whoever is able to take him will need to be able to dedicate more time to his house training. We would also suggest (unless you’re an expert) to prevent small children from interacting with him physically. He has prominent teeth issues that are significant to his breed. His last teeth cleaning estimate was close to $800 and whoever takes him will need to take care of this asap. He will also need his most up to date shots this year. He’s had his shots regularly until this year. He’s great around other dogs. He’s kennel trained. He does well with a leash. He is also neutered. We just know our home no longer fits his needs.
