Description

Duties and Responsibilities * Operate mixing machine, weighing raw material, batching, adding additives and pigments and blending material according to paperwork. * Prepare vessels and equipment for processing by cleaning vessel, setting all valves in correct position and checking all support equipment. * Monitor blending process and at specified intervals draw samples and deliver to quality lab for testing. * Work with production supervisor to plan, coordinate blending activities, keeping him/her informed of work status. * Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to production supervisor. * Use forklift truck and other materials handling equipment to bring raw materials and move drums and totes to and from storage areas. Qualifications/Education/Experience * High school diploma or general education degree required. *Minimum one 1 year manufacturing experience, preferably as a mixer in an industry related environment required. * Demonstrated familiarity with basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above. * Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. * Ability to interpret MSDS'S, Understand hazardous identification system.
