Looking for worthwhile volunteer opportunities

Hi- I am relatively new to the Medford area and would like to know if y’all know of any worthwhile volunteer opportunities locally I don’t really know of any organizations or needs yet. Me and my husband are open to helping animals or people.Just driving around I see there is a large homeless population. Has anyone organized anything to help these underserved people? Anyway, if anyone has any ideas or knows of any organizations I could use help please let me know. Thank you
