MEDFORD, MA — The Thanksgiving Day rivalry game is a storied tradition in high school football, particularly in Medford and Malden, where the matchup dates back to the Harrison administration. The rivalry is now entering its 132nd year, making it the second-oldest continuous high school football rivalry in the country. Last year's game saw the Mustangs and Golden Tornadoes face off in single-digit temperatures, with Malden edging out Medford 28-24. It was Malden's first win of the season and fourth win in a row on Thanksgiving Day. This year it's Medford entering the game winless with an 0-10 record. Malden hasn't fared much better this season, coming in at 1-9. The Golden Tornadoes are 66-55-10 over the Mustangs overall on Thanksgiving.
